Thursday, April 23, 2015: Retirement Security Webinar

Americans are living longer than ever; as a result, older adults have more opportunity to enhance the economy, enrich their communities, and enjoy their families. But longer lives can also bring challenges to Americans’ financial security. Additionally, as private pension options change, and fewer workers spend their careers with a single employer, the sources of retirement security are changing, too. This webinar will provide an overview of best practices to help ensure greater opportunity and ability to enjoy a financially secure retirement.

The webinar will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015, 3-4 p.m. EDT.

The webinar will feature:
Cindy Hounsell
WISER, the Women's Institute for a Secure Retirement

J. Mark Iwry
Senior Advisory to the Secretary of the Treasury and
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Retirement and Health Policy
U.S. Treasury Department

David Laibson
The Robert I. Goldman Professor of Economics
Harvard University

Nora Super
Executive Director
2015 White House Conference on Aging

We hope you will join this engaging discussion about best practices to help ensure a financially secure retirement. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions during the webinar.

Celebrate National Nurses Week!

NGNA would like to wish all members a wonderful Nurses Week! This week, we encourage you to take time out to recognize colleagues for their achievements, and promote the nursing profession to others.

National Nurses Week is May 6-12, 2015. Wednesday, May 6th, is traditionally known as National Nurses Day. The closing of the week, May 12th, is the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. If you would like to view more information about National Nurses Week, along with ways to celebrate, click here.

In the spirit of Nurses Week, we would like to express our sincere thanks to every NGNA member, whether you are retired, a volunteer, a clinician, educator, policy leader or researcher. We appreciate your contribution to the improvement of the lives of older adults and their family caregivers everywhere.

NGNA’s tagline, Where Compassion Meets Purpose, perfectly exemplifies the commitment of our members. As nurses, your compassion is your foundation, reflected in the care you bring to older adults and the work you do for your colleagues. Thank you!

Enjoy this week, which is dedicated to you and your profession!
