Chapter Resources Committee
This committee works with forming chapters to assist them through the steps to be chartered. The committee is also responsible to help chartered NGNA Chapters maintain the active status. Most committee business will be conducted vie e-mail; however, Committee members will be asked to participate on conference calls as needed.
Conference Planning Committee
This Committee is responsible for planning and implementing the annual convention. Committee involvement for the planning committee is the most time intensive of all NGNA committees. The committee meets with staff for monthly conference calls to review the abstracts, identify speakers and plan the annual convention.
Gerontological Advance Practice Nurse Special Interest Group
Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurse (GAPN) Special Interest Group consists of master’s prepared nurses who are members of NGNA. Our members include clinicians, faculty, managers, administrators, researchers, and educators from acute, long-term, home, adult day, and schools of nursing.
Long Term Care Special Interest Group
The mission of the Long Term Care SIG is to promote and support the development of gerontological nursing experts and improve the care provided to older adults in long term care.
The Nominating Committee is the only NGNA Committee with elected members. Committee members are responsible for recruiting eligible candidates for the annual election. Self-nomination to be considered as a candidate for the nominating committee is encouraged.
This committee reviews the poster abstracts each year and identifies the finalists for the Judith Braun Award and the Innovations in Practice Award that are presented at the annual convention. The Committee may be charged to review research grant proposals as a call for proposals is available.
